Professor Jiang Kuirong won first prize in national surgery video contest

In a national video contest of surgery jointly held by the publishers of Annals of Surgery and Chinese Journal of Surgery on February 21st in Zhuhai, Professor Jiang Kuirong from the Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital and the Institute of Pancreas of Nanjing Medical University won the First Prize (No. 1) in the final.

Professor Jiang is the Deputy Director of the Pancreas Center and a Principle Investigator in the Institute of Pancreas. His competitors were all well-known surgeons, who came from top tier-3A hospitals in China and had proved their proficiencies in surgical skills through the preliminary contests held before the national final. The surgical video “Radical Antegrade Modular Pancreatosplenectomy with Celiac Trunk Resection” had immediately become the highlight of the contest once demonstrated by Professor Jiang, said by other surgical professors who were at the venue. All members of the judge committee gave a high approval to Professor Jiang’s excellent surgical skills, which demonstrated the academic level and influence of our Pancreas Center in China.
