Delegation from Oregon Health & Science University Visit Nanjing Medical University

Led by Allison Fryer, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies of its Medical School, the delegation from Oregon Health & Science University paid a visit to Nanjing Medical University on March 11th, 2016. They were warmly welcomed by President Shen Hongbing and Vice President Lu Xiang of NMU together with officials from International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Graduate School, Experimental Animal Base for Medicine and Pharmacy, the First Affiliated Hospital and Affiliated Cancer Hospital.

Vice President Lu introduced the basic situations of course development, discipline construction, graduate education of Nanjing Medical University. Two parties deeply exchanged ideas on quality improvement of graduate education and finally reached an initial consensus and expressed a cooperative intention of sharing of MOOC, exchange of graduate students, etc. Then experts on tumor research from both parties conducted academic exchange. The delegation also visited NMU Jiangning campus and Affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital.

Situated in Portland, Oregon, US, Oregon Health & Science University is a medicine- and research-oriented university, pooling resources in such fields as education, scientific research, medicine and community services. It is composed of four schools, namely School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry and College of Pharmacy. With good prospect for development, its discipline of medicine ranks 32 in the US.
