NMU Leaders Conduct a Survey in Affiliated Nanjing Children’s Hospital

In the afternoon of March 11, 2016, leaders of the University Chen Qi, Shen Hongbing and Wang Lin led a team to conduct a survey in the Affiliated Nanjing Children’s Hospital. The team was composed of leaders from Party Committee Office, President’s Office, Office of Academic Affairs, Department of Science and Technology, Graduate School, the Fourth School of Clinical Medicine, etc. The conference was hosted by Jin Funian, Party Committee Secretary of the Affiliated Nanjing Children’s Hospital.

In the conference, relevant directors presented recent advancements in medicine, teaching and research, elaborated on the development goals of transforming a clinically oriented hospital to a research-oriented one during the 13th five-year-plan period as well as the improvement of the discipline of pediatrics. Participants conducted exchanges and discussions on issues of talent nurturing, scientific research, discipline development and clinical development.

Wang Lin, Vice President of Nanjing Medical University, pointed out that hospitals should broaden their horizons, and seize the opportunities of NMU being co-constructed by the Ministry of Education, National Health and Family Planning Commission and Jiangsu Province, and of expanding needs for pediatric talents, thus seeking further development of pediatrics. Shen Hongbing, President of NMU, remarked that the transformation goal was in consistence with NMU’s development strategy during the 13th five-year-plan period. He hoped that the hospital would take advantage of its excellence in clinical medicine, talents and platform, further enhance the project of talent recruitment and team building. Chen Qi, Party Secretary of NMU, recognized the achievements of the Affiliated Nanjing Children’s Hospital. He encouraged the hospital to make further efforts for the improvement of scientific research and discipline development, and to nurture a group of leading talents with high reputation nationwide in various departments.
