A 7.8-magnitude quake, the most powerful to hit Nepal in 81 years, struck the capital Kathmandu, destroying large parts of the city's historic center on April 25th at 11:41 A.M. local time. According to the announcement of Nepal Ministry of Interior on April 29th, the earthquake has killed 4768 people, and wounded more than 9600 people who need urgent medical attention. Facing the disaster, Nanjing Medical University’s 9 Nepalese students decided to return home the next day to participate in relief effort. On hearing this news, our hospital donated first aid kits, bandages, gauze, masks, infusion apparatus and other medical supplies in the morning of April 30th so these students can take with them to Nepal and convey our friendship to the people of the disaster areas.
