Wayne State University's Associate Vice President Dr. Ahmad M. Ezzeddine and His Colleagues Visit NMU

On March 24th, Wayne State University’s Associate Vice President Dr. Ahmad M. Ezzeddine led a six-member delegation to visit our university. They were welcomed by President Shen Hongbing and officials from the School of Basic Medical Sciences and the International Cooperation & Exchange Office.

During the meeting, both parties made agreement on developing the “4+2”joint training program in basic medical sciences and the “3+2”joint training program in biomedical engineering. Besides, both parties discussed the means of faculty training and teaching cooperation.

The delegation visited the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Basic Medical Sciences, library, stadium and the Affiliated Children's Hospital. During their discussion with the leaders of the Affiliated Children's Hospital, they made agreement on pediatrician and student exchange, scientific research collaboration, and so on.

Wayne State University, located in Detroit, Michigan, is a nationally recognized research institution. The university has trained many famous physicians including Dr. Norman Bethune--the world’s first thoracic surgery was carried out in this university. Wayne State University owns the biggest campus in the United States and cooperates with many specialized hospitals and research centers. The physicians graduated from Wayne State University make up a high proportion in Michigan. Our university has been cooperating with Wayne State University since 2009. The signing of an MOU in 2013 was a major milestone on the path towards our deepening cooperation between two universities.
