Chinese University Ranking Research Group leader, Wu Shulian, who is a renowned expert in Chinese university evaluation and ranking, has recently released his 2014 Chinese university teacher academic level ranking. Out of 734 undergraduate universities analyzed, the top 50% universities were published, listing the ranks of average teacher academic levels of 367 universities. Nanjing Medical University ranks 39, making it the second university after Capital Medical University not sponsored by Project 985 or Project 211 to be among the top 40 universities.
The methodology of ranking is research-oriented, calculated by the research score of each university in the comprehensive strength ranking divide by the corresponding number of researchers which include full-time teachers，full-time researchers and personnel with senior professional titles from affiliated hospitals. Teacher academic levels are graded as A, B, C, D and E with the top 10% as A. Our university’s teacher average academic level is graded as A.
