Physician Specialists from the 1st Affiliated Hospital Provided Medical Service to Guyana

On Sept. 23, two outstanding physicians from the 1st affiliated hospital, as a delegation of the Health and Birth Control Commission of Jiangsu Province, attended service missions in Guyana. Dr. Liu Qing-Huai, Chief of the Dept. of Ophthalmology went to a three-day event called "Action for Vision in Guyana" while Dr. Sun Yue-Ming, Chief of the Minimally Invasive Surgery participated the opening ceremony of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Center in Lyndon hospital in Guyana.

On Sept. 27, Mr. Li Bin, Chief of the Chinese National Health and Birth Control Commission, joined by Mr. Rumsaran (拉姆萨兰), Minister of Health of Guyana and Zhan Li-Min, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, visited the postoperative patients whose cataract surgery were performed by the foreign medical aid from Jiangsu province, especially the medical team and specialist panel from our 1st affiliated hospital. Mr. Li gave a high praise on their outstanding medical service. The current 11th medical team and specialist panel have completed 100 cases service of PHOCO and SICS in total on the Guyanese patients.

Furthermore, Mr. Li had introduced and praised the Chinese medical team in the opening ceremony of "the Chinese-aided Minimally Invasive Surgery Center" in Lyndon hospital in Guyana for their work ethics and professional skills. During the visit, Dr. Sun Yue-Ming carried out 11 surgeries in total. Additionally, the specialist panel also got a warm welcome and high praise both from the Prime Minister, the Health Minister of Guyana and China's Ambassador to Guyana.
