Dr. Craig Roberts, Director of Learning Innovations and Global Programs of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, visited NMU

Dr. Craig Roberts, Director of Learning Innovations and Global Programs of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, visited our University on Oct 14th, 2014. Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, faculty members and students from NMU-affiliated Brain Hospital held a meeting with Dr. Roberts in the Suiyue Pavilion.

During the meeting, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office and delegates from affiliated Brain Hospital gave a general introduction of our University and the Hospital respectively and expressed an intent to cooperate with the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences. Dr. Roberts demonstrated some recent developments and major research fields of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, especially the upcoming scientific and educational projects executed by Shanghai Neuroeconomics Collective of which his Institute is a member, and invited our University to take part in these projects. (Shanghai Neuroeconomics Collective has participating institutions New York University, Duke University, Neuroscience Institute of Chinese academy of Sciences, Duke Kunshan University, and New York University Shanghai.) Both sides also deeply discussed potential student exchange and joint training of postgraduates and faculty members.

Duke University was founded in 1838, and is located in North Carolina, USA. It is the best private school in southern USA. The Duke Institute for Brain Sciences was founded in 2007 and has brought in scholars from Duke University School of Medicine, Fuqua School of Business, Duke University School of Law, etc. and has recruited more than 400 students.
