In the morning of October 20th, more than 20 senior officials came to inspect Kangda College. The delegation included Cao Weixing, the Lieutenant Governor of Jingsu Province, Xu Ning, Director-General of Jiangsu Department of Education, Shen Jian, Deputy Director-General of Jiangsu Department of Finance, and Yang Shengshi, Deputy Municipal Party Secretary of Lianyungang. The representatives of Nanjing Medical University who met the delegation were Party Secretary Chen Qi, President Shen Hongbing, Vice President Xia Youbing and the Directors of Kangda College. The conference was hosted by Party Secretary Chen Qi of Nanjing Medical University.
In the meeting, Mr. Chen Qi at first extended a cordial welcome to Mr. Cao Weixing on behalf of the University. Zhang Qiande, the Dean of Kangda College, reported how Kangda College had been going recently.
Mr. Yang Shengshi gave credits to the educational achievements made by Kangda and stated that the relocation of Kangda College to Lianyungang was a forceful measure to promote higher education in northern Jiangsu and the economic development of Lianyungang. After its relocation, Kangda has played an important role in many fields including professional cultivation, scientific investigation, cultural heritage and social service, combining local and the College's reality. It has also deepened the cooperation between the local government, medical enterprises, hospitals and the College, which contributed to the faster and better development in education, medicine and health of Lianyungang. He hoped for further cooperation in inter-school exchanges and he stressed that the government will fully support the construction and development of Kangda College.
Subsequently, Mr. Cao Weixing made an important speech, in which he fully approved Kangda’s achievements after the relocation. He hopes that Kangda College will continuously reform and innovate as a leading independent college, developing differently from traditional universities. Likewise, through deepening the cooperation between the College and Lianyungang, the College will cooperate with the local government, enterprises, universities and colleges in order to be steadily rooted and absorbed in Lianyungang, and consequently to have more contribution to the related economic development of Lianyungang and northern Jiangsu. He also maintained that Kangda College will make more progress with the help of provincial and municipal governments and Nanjing Medical University.
Finally, Mr. Chen Qi expressed thanks to Mr. Cao for his approval and support and declared that Nanjing Medical University will try its best to further strengthen education characteristics and enhance comprehensive strengths of Kangda College so as to make contribution to the social and economic development of Lianyungang, and the education and health services of northern Jiangsu.
