Medical charity to the Second Affiliated Hospital of NJMU

A team of 4 doctors from an Italian charity called Interethnos Interplast Italy recently visited the Second Affiliated Hospital of our university. This organization has been engaged in charitable medical service to about 19 countries in the world since 1969 and their program in China started at 1993. During their visit in Nanjing from 28th July to 6th August, they provided medical service to 10 patients with orofacial clefts or scars in Second Affiliated Hospital of NJMU and 7 cases in Si-Yang Hospital.

Meanwhile, the university officials including Professors Ji Guozhong, President of the hospital, Xu Shan, Dean of the School of International Education, Gao Xingya, Director of student affairs and Zhou Jianwei, Dean of Graduate School had a productive meeting with Paolo Morselli, a team member of the group from the University of Bologna at the conference room in Mingde Building of Wutai Campus. They have discussed issues related to future collaborations between two universities on exchanging graduate students and young doctors, and programs involved in clinical research and academic conference of mutual interests.

University of Bologna, Italy, founded in 1088, has been recognized as the oldest university and the cradle of university education system in Europe. There are three hospitals affiliated with the University, which are well-known for their neurology, orthopedics, gastroenterology and hepatology.
