NMU Sports Dept Teacher Shi Xiang Named 2014 International Football Referee

Pubdate:2014-03-10

After a process of rigorous examination and evaluation, the Chinese Football Association yesterday announced the 2014 international football referee and assistant referee candidates, as approved by FIFA. The list included Nanjing Medical University's Sports department teacher Shi Xiang, who was named a 2014 international football referee.
Mr. Shi joined NMU in 2004, and that year was also named a national level referee. In 2007, he was recommended by the Jiangsu province Football Management Centre to participate in national football referee training, after which he refereed national football matches at all levels. Notably, in 2010, Mr. Shi was selected to referee in the China vs Paraguay friendly match. In 2013, he was named by China's General Administration of Sport national-level referees, and in the same year, he was one of the sixteen national-level referees recommended to work at an international level. Giving credit where it is due, the Chinese Football Association has now appointed Mr. Shi as a 2014 Chinese Super League referee.
