On February 9th 2014, the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) All-Star game held in Daqing, Heilongjiang province, was refereed by NMU sports teacher Shi Qirong. Shi Qirong was selected to referee the all-star game after an outstanding performance during the regular season games, and is now the first WCBA All-Star referee in Jiangsu province.
