NMU Second Sessions of Seventh Faculty Congress Concludes

On the afternoon of January 9th,the second session of the seventh faculty congress of Nanjing Medical University was held in the library of the Wutai campus . Heads of faculty Chen Qi, Zhou Yafu, Zhang Zhufan, Xia Youbing, Leng Mingxiang, Wang Ruixin, Lu Xiang, and Wang Lin all served as delegates of the seventh faculty congress. The session was also attended by democratically elected leaders and middle-level cadres as observers. The secretary of the committee for disciplinary inspections, Leng Mingxiang, presided over the session.
       Party secretary and president of Nanjing Medical University Chen Qi gave a report on “deepening reform, being pragmatic and making efforts to take NMU to the next level” at the session. The report summarized NMU's significant achievements in 2013 from four perspectives, that is, team construction and talent cultivation, subject development and scientific research, affiliated hospital construction and social services, and integrated management. The report then touched on the main points of development for NMU in 2014.
 
Vice president Zhang Zhufan gave a statement on the formulation of the statute of Nanjing Medical University and expounded upon the historical origin and practical significance of the university regulations. Vice president Xia Youbing extrapolated on the naming of some of the buildings, rivers and roads within the university. The director of the committee for handling proposals to the seventh faculty congress, Wu Binjiang, gave a report on the proposals from the first session of the seventh faculty congress. There was also a live demonstration of the online faculty congress proposals system.
 
Delegates broke into group discussion after the session. Delegates freely expressed their opinions and put forward suggestions on the development of the university, the university statutes, the naming of buildings and roads, and democratic management.
