NMU Successfully Held the 2018 International Symposium on Medical Education

    On April 21st-22nd, the 2018 International Symposium on Medical Education of Nanjing Medical University was held. University leaders Dr. Wang Changqing, Dr. Shen Hongbing, Dr. Lu Xiang, Dr. Wang Lin, Dr. Xu Shan, Dr. Ji Yong, university middle-level cadres, affiliated hospitals and college leaders, faculty representatives, Chinese and international students altogether more than 300 people attended the opening ceremony of the symposium and listened to the theme report. Ten experts and scholars from the Western University, the University of South Carolina, the University of Manchester, and the University of Sydney were invited to NMU to participate in this international symposium.

 

The theme of the forum is "Challenge and Innovations in Medical Education", focusing on the new situations, new developments, new challenges and new achievements in medical education and research. At the opening ceremony, President Shen Hongbing welcomed the guests on behalf of the University and wished the forum a complete success. He said that higher medical education needs to grasp the development trend of global education, deepen exchanges and cooperation between349 and at home and abroad, learn from the latest achievements in the medical field, and comprehensively promote Education And teaching reform. He hoped that at this forum, the collision of wisdom and thoughts between Chinese and western experts and scholars, and the integration of views and ideas will bring more theoretical results to the conference.  After the main symposium, the Sino-Canada sub-forum hosted by the Science and Technology Department and the Institute of Translational Medicine, the China-UK sub-forum hosted by the School of Basic Medical Sciences, the Sino-Australia sub-forum hosted By the Second Affiliated Hospital and the Affiliated Sir Run Run Hospital, and the Sino-US sub-forum hosted by the School of Public Health were held one after another. Chinese and foreign experts and scholars shared their latest research and latest achievements in the fields Of translational medicine, cardiovascular research, general practice training, and global health education. The 19 keynote reports of this international symposium attracted more than 650 listeners, with great responses.

    During the Symposium, the NMU leaders also discussed high-level in-depth cooperation with representatives of universities participating in the symposium, and reached substantive cooperation projects and initiatives in related fields. The representatives of the participating universities agreed to hold a multilateral symposium in the Field of medical education every two years in the future. Everyone will cooperate regularly and seek common development.

    The successful holding of this symposium enriched the form and content of our university's internationalization, which helped to promote the internationalization of the university and enriched the content of the “internationally renowned” goal .
