NMU and Huai’an Municipal People’s Government Signed an Agreement on Cooperative Construction

NMU and Huai’an Municipal People’s Government signed an cooperative agreement on construction of clinical medical research institute in northern Jiangsu Province on February 7, 2017. The signing ceremony was attended by Yao Xiaodong (Secretary of Huai’an Municipal Party Committee), Hui Jianlin (Mayor of Huai’an), Wang Honghong (Deputy Mayor of Huai’an), Sun Xiaoyang (Vice Chairman of Huai’an Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference), NMU leaders Chen Qi, Shen Hongbing, Wang Lin, Li Jianqing and directors from relevant departments. Deputy Mayor Wang Honghong hosted the ceremony.
 Vice Chairman Sun Xiaoyang introduced the preparation of the clinical medical research institute in northern Jiangsu Province, which was to be built in Huai’an First People’s Hospital according to the agreement. Through regular exchange of visits, establishment of security mechanism and overall cooperation in clinical medicine, teaching and research, two parties would make joint efforts to build a medical research base featuring the combination of basic research and clinical medicine, which aims to be first-class in Jiangsu Province and be one of the domestic leaders.

In his speech, Chen Qi thanked Huai’an Municipal People’s Government which has been all along very supportive to Nanjing Medical University. He pointed out that the two parties enjoy good foundations for cooperation. Signing the agreement is an important measure for Nanjing Medical University to promote the construction of a world-class university and world-class disciplines so as to better serve the regional economic development. NMU will try its outmost to implement the task of co-construction by the overall cooperation with the institute and local government.
 YaoXiaodong, Secretary of Huai’an Municipal Party Committee, elaborated on the great significance of co-construction from such aspects as realization of the 13^th Five-Year Plan, response to people’s earnest expectations and exploration of new model of cooperation between universities and local government. Bilateral executive departments were required to specify the assignments, make out a schedule and draw a roadmap in order to meticulously realize the work of co-construction as soon as possible.
 On behalf of Nanjing Medical University and Huai’an Municipal People’s Government respectively, President Shen Hongbing and Mayor Hui Jianlin signed the cooperative agreement on construction of clinical medical research institute in northern Jiangsu Province.
