Nanjing Hosts 2014 International Forum for Jinling Cardiovascular Translational Medicine

The 2014 International Forum for Jinling Cardiovascular Translational Medicine was held in Nanjing between April 16th and 18th. The forum was hosted by the Collaborative Innovation Center for Cardiovascular Disease Translational Medicine, and organized by Jiangsu Province Hospital's Department of Cardiology and Key Laboratory of Cardiovascular Disease and Molecular Intervention, along with Nanjing Medical University's Department of Pathophysiology and the Jiangsu Association of Pathophysiology. The vice director of the Jiangsu Educational Department, Yin Xiangwen, and members of Nanjing Medical University leaders, Chen Qi and Zhang Zhufan, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. About 150 researchers, clinicians, and graduate students from home and abroad, all engaged in basic and clinical research of cardiovascular disease, attended the event.

The conference consisted of different themed forums relating to cardiovascular diseases. These included atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, cardiovascular inflammation, and interaction and homeostasis maintainance between cardiovascular cells. Distinguished authorities and scholars from the University of Rochester Medical School, Rush University Medical School, the University of Nevada Medical School, Peking University Health Science Center, the Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Central South University Medical School, Tianjin Medical University, Harbin Medical University, and Nanjing Medical University and its affiliated hospitals were all invited to present reports at meeting. These speakers demonstrated the latest achievements and developments in cardiovascular studies. The 2014 forum provided a pluri-level platform for professionals to share research in molecular mechanisms and their clinical applications in the field of cardiovascular disease.
