Jiangsu Shengze Hospital (also known as Shengze Branch of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, Jiangsu Shengze Hospital affiliated to Nanjing Medical University) is located in a China town of silk, Shengze, in south Jiangsu and is a new general hospital that carries out medical services, teaching, research, disease prevention, and health protection. The hospital is donated by Cyrus Chung Ying Tang Foundation in the US and jointly funded by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Wujiang Municipal People’s Government, and Shengze Town People’s Government. The construction of the hospital started in October 2007 and after licensed by the Department of Health of Jiangsu on November 26, 2009, the hospital was officially opened to the public. The hospital merged the former Wujiang No. 3 People’s Hospital. In December 2011, it passed the provincial assessment and became a Level Three Grade B hospital. It is under the direct management of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital. The Director, under the leadership of the Council, is responsible for the hospital’s operation.
The hospital has a land area of 15.9 hectares and a total floor space of 102,558 square meters. It has a total fixed asset of 764 million yuan and the total value of precious medical appliances with unit prices above 10,000 yuan amounts to 111 million yuan. The hospital consists of 56 departments including 40 medical and technical departments and 16 administrative departments and has 618 beds. Presently it has 868 medical and technical specialists. Among them 41 specialists have senior professional titles, 60 have associate senior titles, 194 have middle titles, and 532 have junior titles. And the number of professionals with master’s degrees and above is 59.
