The Department of Neurobiology is an important part of Pharmacology which is a key discipline of ministerial level and Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Functional Genomics. It was authorized to grant master’s degree in 2000. Main research direction of this department is Systems Neurobiology, Cellular Neurobiology and Molecular Neurobiology, focusing on the central nervous system synaptic plasticity. Our Department has assumed a number of national, ministerial or provincial projects since its inception in 2005 by Professor Wei Lu. Many articles have been published in high impact factor as SCI papers, including the Journal of Neuroscience, Neuropsychopharmacology, Stroke, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Plos One, Hippocampus and other well-known international journals. The department offers two graduate courses of neurobiology and the patch clamp recording technique, has trained 25 graduates, 5 doctoral students, has established good relations of cooperation with some famous scholars or labs to carry out academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation, joint training of the postgraduates, and make the academic research direction of our disciplines always been at the international forefront.
