|NMU’s First State-level International S＆T Cooperation Base Approved|
After the accreditation by the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, NMU’s International Collaborative Research Center of Environment and Human Health was approved as a State-level International Science and Technology Cooperation Base in 2016 (state-level international collaborative research center).
Accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology and its functional organization Department of International Cooperation, International S＆T Cooperation Bases include high-tech parks, institutes and universities that made great achievements in conducting international scientific and technological collaboration. They can be classified into four categories as international innovation parks, international collaborative research centers, international technology transfer centers and international model bases of scientific and technological cooperation. There are 169 units listed as China international collaborative research centers so far.
Led by the School of Public Health, NMU’s International Collaborative Research Center of Environment and Human Health cooperates with Harvard University, UCLA, Dartmouth College, Duke University and National Institutes of health. The center takes environment and human health as the key research with the assistance from the School of Public Health and the State Key laboratory of Reproductive Medicine. Focusing on environmental toxicology, environmental epidemiology, environmental pollution as well as risk assessment and early warning on health hazards, the center conducts close collaborative research in the main fields of malignant tumors and reproductive health. The accreditation by the Ministry of Science and Technology symbolizes that NMU has made a breakthrough in the construction of national science and technology platform and a great progress in international scientific and technological cooperation.
