3. Research Interests

My group focuses on the effect of dietary phytochemicals on chronic disease prevention, as well as the protective effect of the phytochemicals against environmental toxicity. We have found that green tea polyphenol EGCG and curcumin can up-regulate the tumor suppress gene such as UBE1L or JWA and therefore down-regulate oncogene EGFR. Also, Combination of EGCG and cisplatin enhance the sensitivity of the cancer cells to chemotherapy. In addition, EGCG, curcumin and oleuropein are found to protect hepatocytes and myocardial cells against acrylamide.
