NMU Held the Forth English-medium Teaching Observation

On May 10th, “The Forth English-medium Teaching Observation”, one activity of the 85th anniversary of NMU, was successfully held at the School of International Education. Vice President Wang Lin, judges from the Teaching Affairs Department of NMU, directors of school teaching affair offices, more than 150 overseas students and their teacher representatives participated in the observation.

Themed by “making excellence through mutual learning”, the observation centered on the key issues of overall rejuvenation of education and teaching for undergraduates. During the activity, the English-medium teaching demonstration of several outstanding teachers served as a communication platform to improve teaching quality.

Vice President Wang Lin stressed that high-level English-medium teaching was a way of presenting teachers’ teaching competence and shaping international image of NMU. He hoped that this observation could encourage teacher representatives to think more and enhance their teaching competence.

During the observation, Jiang Wen from the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Sun Jing from the First Clinical Medical School, Niu Changming from the Second Clinical Medical School and Gu Yan from the School of Stomatology demonstrated their English-medium teaching for twenty minutes respectively. Afterwards, their performances were reviewed by Associated Professor Gu Ping from the School of Foreign Languages, Professor Huang Xinxiang and Professor Wu Ying from Jiangsu University, Director Du Ziyan from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, Director Lu Donghui from Nanjing BenQ Medical Center and overseas student representative.
