Our students won medals in the third National Student Basic Medical Innovation Forum and Experimental Design Competition

 

During the October 18th to 19th, the third National Student Basic Medical Innovation Forum and Experimental Design Competition jointly co-hosted by the Basic Medical Education Branch of Chinese Association of High Medical Education, the University Medicine Disciplines Basic Medicine Specialty and Course Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center were held at the Second Military Medical University. A total of 344 players from more than 60 medical colleges nationwide entered the final competition, which included the Union Medical College, Peking University, Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong Science and Technology University, Zhongshan University and other famous universities. Finally, 34 first prizes, 69 second prizes and 103 third prizes were awarded to the winner. There were 8 participating teams from our university composed of the undergraduates majored in clinical medicine and biotechnology won the competition in the first round. After the fierce competition, our university won 2 first prizes, 1 second prizes and 2 third prizes.

The Basic Medical Innovation Forum and Experimental Design Competition aimed to train the creative thinking and the experimental performance ability of the basic medical students, push the reform and exploration of talents training mode, and promote the exchanges and cooperation among the institutions. The school of basic medical sciences pays great attention to the biennial tournament, and considers it as an important opportunity to promote the teaching reform, improve the quality of talents training, and show our teaching reform achievements to other institutes. Through the encouragement, the careful guidance from the teachers, and the simulation scene organized by the leaders in charge, the performance of our students were highly improved. There were more than 50 teachers and students participated in the preparation of the competition.
